The day Apple and I broke up!!

Once up on a time there was a beautiful girl named Holley. She worked hard and thought it was time to purchase her dream phone. After a particularly interesting point in her life, she went out and bought it. It was a splendid week. Full of much bonding and usage. She had found her true love. A friend, who will remain nameless at this time, invited Holley to go get ice cream. At this point it becomes all fuzzy… Somewhere between point A (her house) and point B (the store) it disappeared. No one knows what happened. Did it get stolen…. Dropped… it is sufficed to say, that it is no more and was never recovered again. After many tears and frustrating tantrums she learned that her best option was of buying a replacement for this phone. $500 later, she was once again in possession of the iPhone. This is where her life is no longer a happy little world with butterflies and flowers. This is where her world becomes a dark and dismal place.

Phone #2: This $500 purchase was a little sketchy. It would not allow me to hold on to any Apps. They would delete our not work after only being installed for a day or two. It would have to be shut down and restarted at least twice a day. I wish I was exaggerating… alas, I am not. I did not feel this was appropriate for the price I paid. I cannot begin to express the remorse in my little heart. I called the help line and they agreed it was a bad phone. Apple agreed to ship me a new phone free of charge. It would arrive in 2-5 business days.

Phone #3: It did not take 2-5 business days. It took 10. It got lost in the mail. However, I should have mentioned that I would be billed if my other phone was not back in Apples possession within 10 days. Yep, you guessed it… they billed me another $500. This was a little sad for me on so many levels. I did not have enough money to pay this incredible amount. I called and told them that I had not yet received it and they checked with the postal service and found the phone and I got it the next day. When I tried to get my $500 back the battle begins. I was told at first that it would take up to 2 weeks for that to be put in my bank account. OR, I could have 370 within 2 business days and that is it. It took me 2 hours to get 420 back within 2 business days. They were also kind enough to give me Mobile me Mobile for free.

Phone #4: This phone, I like to say was a bad egg. It came to me bad. I opened it up and the screen was white. It would not let me in at all. I could feel it vibrate and hear it ring, but could not answer. I drove it to Salt Lake City and went to the store. They told me, that this just happens to 1 in every 200 phones. They gave me a new one.

Phone #5: This last phone has been VERY good to me. I must say that I have enjoyed it. I have had it for a month ( the longest out of them all.) However, A few days ago, I noticed that it will not let me view my contacts. I have called and done several walk through, but alas… it will only let me see 42 contacts. I have tried to add them again, but they just vanish. Where do they go?!!!

I am done. No more. I am over $1000 dollars right now. NO PHONE IS WORTH A GRAND!! I seriously cannot be this unlucky… Sigh!

Apple Care

Annoyances: Multimillion dollar companies that nickel and dime you!! Explanation… My bad day!

I will be fair, this bad day is a result of 2.5 months, but today is the day I shall seek my revenge. If anyone knows anything about me it is that I am very ill fated when it comes to cell phones. The strangest things occur when I am in possession of a cell phone that I like. This being said, I still decided, against my better judgment, that I should purchase my dream phone… the iPhone! I had worked VERY hard and thought that I had deserved this special treat. Day three of owning the damn thing, it is stolen right out from my purse while shopping in a Macy’s grocery store. Did I call Apple IMMEDIATELY? Why, of course I did. They gave me the regrettable news that my phone did not have theft insurance in Apple Care, but that I HAD to spend another 100 dollars to be able to track it. However, I had to have the phone to set it up. SO, there I was distraught and very frustrated. The iPhone costs between 100-300 dollars to purchase. Another 100 for apple care, and now another 100 for Mobile me mobile. That is 300-500 just to start up. Plus, AT&T is not the cheapest to go with. An average bill is close to 100 a month. I am committed, and I could just not walk away. I went into the AT&T store and since I had just barely bought the phone they gave me a pretty good deal of 400 to replace the phone. That was including ALL the programs that I needed. I was on my way. Not even two weeks after having this new phone, it began doing some strange and mysterious things. Turning off, not letting me get into my texting, dropping the apps I would download, etc. I called the Apple hotline and got a very nice person on the phone. She told me she would mail one to me immediately. That it would be there in 2 business days. I would then have 10 days to return the broken phone. 8 days later… still no phone. I called again and got another nice guy this time. He looked up my account to find that it was shipped to the wrong address. He simply sent me another one. I told him that I had only 2 days to send back my broken phone, but I needed it until the replacement came. He assured me I was ok and put a “note” on my record to stop any problems. Two days later my phone came and I sent back my broken one. Today, I found that I was overdrawn $600 dollars in my account. I went to the bank and they told me it was Apple. I called and was on the phone for an hour and 22 minutes… only to get 530 of my dollars back. They refused, in a nice way, to pay for the full amount and all the overdraft charges being sent to my bank.

Moral of this story… you can still have nice personable customer service and still not achieve any actual costumer service!!

House Hunting

I found that house hunting is quite seriously the most entertaining adventure I have ever undergone. I have two sisters and a mom who have been quite helpful. Some of the houses we looked at were... dangerous seems to extreme, but border lining to that title should fit the experience nicely. Some of those basements will haunt my nightmarish dreams forever!! For those of you who know my little sister Kim and my mother can stop and reflect on there terrified faces and dry heaving and spend a few moments of laughter. I LOVE MY FAMILY! This house is the one I would like to buy. We shall see. It is perfect for my little self in so many ways. For one, it has real hard wood floors... I miss those. Secondly, a library. Yes, it is true... my house has a library built into it. This library even has a fireplace. Three bedrooms and a massive huge kitchen. My favorite is that it even has a studio for little ol' me! The historical factor is an added bonus as well. This house was built in the late 1800s. I have a bizzaro passion for these homes. After spending so much time in them and among them, it took. I love this little old cottage. We shall see... the fun is about to begin!! Making the offer and all that paper work.
